Mong Dal Khichdi Written Recipe With Directions
Ingredients:

-Rice Double steam (Chawal kachi basmati) 500 g (soaked 30 minutes)
-Split green moong lentil (Hari moong dal) 125 g (soaked 30 minutes)
-Cooking oil ½ cup
-Onion (piyaz) sliced 1 medium size
-Cloves (laung) 4-5
-Black cardamom (Badi elaichi) 2
-Green cardamom (choti elaichi) 2
-Cinnamon stick (Darchini) 1 inch
-Black peppercorn (sabut kali mirch) 10-12
-Bay leaves (Tez paat) 1
-Cumin Seeds (zeera) ½ tsp
-Water (pani) 1 liter
-Salt (namak) ½ tsp or to taste

Directions:

-In a pan, heat the oil, add onion, and cook it for 2-3 mins until it changes light brown in color.
-Add cloves, black cardamom, green cardamom, cinnamon stick, black peppercorn, bay leaves, and cumin seeds, and cook t for 1 min.
-Then, add water and salt. Cover and bring it to a boil.
-Now, add split green moong lentil and cover it for 3-4 mins.
-Add rice and cook it on high flame.
-Lower the flame, cover it with aluminum foil and place the lid on it, and put it on simmer for 15 mins.
-Remove the cover and leave it for 2-3 minutes, then dish it out.
-Serve with Raita or yogurt, and Enjoy!
